Big Sam’s Funky Nation has boldly established their presence at the forefront of the vibrant New Orleans music scene. Trombone powerhouse and band leader “Big Sam” Williams has been celebrated as “the top man on the slide trombone in the birthplace of jazz” by the San Francisco Chronicle and the band has been consistently touted for “bringing a straight raw party” by Jambase. The members of the Funky Nation, a group of well trained and experienced musicians with impressive credentials of their own meet the challenge of their band leader. The energy level is high voltage when BSFN takes the stage.
Rising from the back yards of Okaloosa County, Florida, Heritage delivers an energetic and positive show that will move all ages and genres! The band broke into the pop/reggae scene in 2009 with their debut album, Natural High. The album earned regional success and allowed the band to spread their message of positivity to listeners across the southeastern United States. In 2012 Heritage released it’s second full-length album, “Out Here…”, and has never looked back. The group has headlined hundreds of shows and served as support for national acts ZZ Top, Rebelution, 311, Ballyhoo, & more. 2013 has been an even more eventful year including a multi-show stint on the Van’s Warped Tour spanning from West Palm Beach, FL to Milwaukee, WI, an appearance on the Fall Brewhaha 2013 Tour (With Passafire), and multiple performances with Dirty Heads. Heritage sounds like a mixture of soulful roots reggae, rock, so-cal dub, and Hip Hop! The group is an up-and-coming talent that you will not only love to listen to, but also love to see…
Come Back Alice is a southern funk band who has gained popularity throughout the Southern region with there gypsy style and soulful vocals. They’ve performed at numerous festivals and venues, most recently Bear Creek Festival, House of Blues, State Theatre and Skippers Smokehouse. Come Back Alice consists of band members Tony Tyler (lead vocalist/guitar), Dani Jaye (vocals, violin, guitar), John Werner (bass) and Yral Morris (drums).
The New Earth Army is a Florida Panhandle based band focused on bringing a new spin to a tired music industry. The New Earth Army’s sound pulls influences from rock, blues, funk, jazz, and world music, to create a new yet familiar sound. Improvisation is expected and guest musicians are a treat to the audience as well as the performers. The New Earth Army is all about making music for the sake of music. Melissa Joiner (vocals), Chavis (guitar), Mike (bass), Breyson (drums), and Matt (tenor/baritone sax & flute) join forces to form the New Earth Army.
Post Pluto is here to make you boogie. Mixing the improv roots and unexpected covers of the jam world with the groove of funk and the originality of today’s indie scene, the five-piece Pensacola band has built a reputation for gettin’ people movin’. Music can be many things to many people. These guys embrace it for what it is to them – fun. Their sound rocks and rolls. It peaks and soars. It reaches the depths of an entirely fresh universe that is unabashedly and undeniably Post Pluto.
Captain Green is the perfect proponent of the Louisiana music tradition… They use jazz as a launching pad to get to space, and, boy, do they ever get there! Captain Green features Ross Hoppe (Keyboards), Robert Kilng (Bass), Kevin McMann (Sax), David Melancon (Trumpet and Flugelhorn), Grant Hudson (Guitar), Chris “Katt” Lee and Michael Harris (Drums). They have been a part of music festivals such as Wakarusa, Bear Creek Music Festival, Revolution Fest, Suwannee Disc Jam, Bay Fest, Secret Stages, and Radiopalooza and have graced the stage with acts such as George Porter Jr., Rebirth Brass Band, Bernie Worrell, Dumpstaphunk, Snarky Puppy, and The Main Squeeze.
Florida Panhandle-based Continuum is a 4-piece band that have coined the term Electronic “Soulk” (a combination of Folk and Soul) to describe their own singular and unusual style. The passion and determination of these four 20-somethings is evident in everything they do and can absolutely be heard on any of their albums. When you see them live, however, it hits you like a moving train – and rest assured, their train is moving fast and you’ll want to hop on! with Anthony O’Shae on vocals, Jessica Heit on violin, Robby Walton on guitar, keys and vocals, and Caleb Schossow on percussion, they form a sound which is just that.
Paw Paw’s Medicine Cabinet is Gabriel Willis on bass and vocals, Mike Jernigan on guitar and vocals, Ethan Snediger on drums and percussion, and Jeremy Ault on lead guitar. Paw Paw’s Medicine Cabinet is an indie southern pop rock band based out of Mobile, Ala. PPMC is currently being produced by Alabama and Georgia Hall of Famer, Rick Hirsch. Their debut album, which is a double album release, is set to hit the market in early 2017.
Lee “El Dub” Walsh: Lyric Extraordinaire, Musician, Composer, Multi-Instrumentalist, and Vocalist, with a love of music to no end and an even bigger passion to share it! A One Man, Reggae, Funk, Hip Hop, Soul band with a high energy, and intricate “looping” style mixed with a positive uplifting message creating a laid back, “no worries”, feel good type of vibe! El Dub plays all instruments live in real time, including, beat boxing, guitar, bass, keys and harmonizing vocals and loops them into layers that end up sounding like a full band with just one man!
Ajeva (a-jay-vuh) is a progressive funk powerhouse from St. Petersburg, FL. Composed of Reed Skahill (lead vox/guitar/keys), Taylor Gilchrist (bass), Dean Arscott (percussion/keys/guitar/band artist), Travis Young (drums), Mark Mayea (lead keys), and Skyler Golden (lead guitar), Ajeva has been playing all over Florida and the South-East since March 2013 spreading their message of unity, peace and FUNK! With catchy vocals, infectious grooves, and a high energy live show Ajeva has the sound & vibe that will keep you watching and listening.
Collisions don’t typically breed favorable endings. However, an encounter that took place on Interstate 75 has proven to be the exception to the rule. It brought together artists Obliq of Atlanta and Price of Kentucky, which lead to the formation of eccentric Hip-Hop group Strange Tang.
The Wide Open has no boundaries and seamlessly crosses multiple genres by blending elements of Southern Soul, with modern Roots and Americana. Their distinctive style, is comprised of blues-infused vocals, swampy harmonica riffs and well-crafted lyrics with R&B grooves.The Wide Open, includes singer/songwriter Allen Rayfield on harmonica, guitar, and ukulele, along with award winning female vocalist and singer/songwriter Season Ammons on guitar and banjo. The Wide Open is tight group with a full and infectious sound that is a must see experience!
RevFest Welcome Jam

The tradition of the “RevFest Welcome Jam” is in it’s fourth year and running strong! We invite musicians from all your favorite RevFest bands to get up on stage for a jam session to kick off the festivities! This year’s Welcome Jam will be once again hosted by the dynamic duo of the Good Lookings, made up of Myke V on guitar and vocals and Jarrod on drums. The Good Lookings are a two-piece rock band (with occasional guests) based in Destin, Florida with a rich, full sound and no harsh aftertaste. You definitely don’t want to miss out on this!
